Here is a pre-masquerade photo of my Rocket from this weekend at Ad Astra. I am quite pleased with how it turned out even for completely last minute! I decided to do her randomly after seeing the movie and hearing that I looked like her a lot. She is definitely the best character too!

It still needs a few touch-ups and then I will take her out for some epic photos!

You are THE best Rocket cosplayer I have seen on the internet, or anywhere, other than the movie ;__; You managed to get the costume right, and even the boots!!! I'm hoping to attempt to cosplay her in the future, and have one HUGE question-- how on earth did you manage her shoes? I read your earlier post about using a pair of tights, but if you could elaborate, I would be super grateful ;__;

Hey there, thanks so much for the compliments on my Rocket!

About the shoes, I did create a pair of tights more or less, but without the bottom. I basically cut them off at about the ankles and attached elastics so I could slip them over a pair of shoes I already had. I left the front part opened and built boot flaps (where the laces start) and then attached those flaps all the way up with bias tape, sewn open so that they actually moved like flaps. I put interfacing in them aswell to strengthen them, then attached the grommets! Last step was attaching a tongue inside.

One more quick question, though, I assume the "boot flaps" you were talking about are the black parts on the tights? What did you make them out of? A stiffer material?

Yep the black parts! You can use any material really, and just put some interfacing inside.

This saves me from searching for the ~perfect~ boots, which has been going on for a while, hahahaa, and is pretty much impossible. I've never gone about making boot covers of any sort, but this helped a lot. Once again, thank you!! I hope I can be as good of a Rocket as you are!
